What does it mean "living on the grid?"

Grid as in the electric grid..I think that comes from the pattern the power lines create.

We have lived Off the Grid for going on 8 years. We have a solar panel & wind generator & a battery bank & create our power from sun & wind & it is stored in the battery bank. We have 12 volt power & 110 power from an inverter so we can have lights & run the computer

We have a propane refrigerator & stove. We heat with wood.

Wow, that's very eco-friendly Charlotte. Keith, the hubby, has always wanted to do something with "wind power" as it is incredibly windy here on the water. I'll have to let him read your post and then he'll get inspired!!!

Tell Keith we have an Air X Wind Generator. I think they are around $500.
